I've long thought that consumerism was not only unsustainable but also antithetical to core Christian values. Of course we all (certainly myself included) can get sucked up in wanting the new toy and insisting we "need" it.

What are YOU going to do when gas prices go even higher?
I guess I'll have to give my wife a couple bucks toward the gas it takes for her to drive me to work in the morning. I don't drive, myself, except occasionally on the weekends.
I definitely don't take any joy in the situation, especially since everything from the food we all eat to the comics we love will all go up in price to pay for their delivery via trucks...
Yeah,we're paying $3.73 a gallon here in LA right now and despise it vehemently!
This is just ridiculous!
Whoever the next president is is going to have a job on their hands with the gasoline issue. Let's see what they can do with it.
